Medica expresses the most prestigious results in the study of new technologies, starting with the major investments made by the group in solar panels installed on all sites for a total of 441 kW and the total recovery of solvents and water from the hollow fibre membrane extrusion processes:

  • to purify tap water using a new generation of graphene-enriched filters to combat emerging contaminants and reduce the use of plastic bottles (Graphil project);
  • to purify water from emerging contaminants using adsorption filters made from the recovery of hollow fibre membrane offcuts (Life Remembrance project).

Medica S.p.A. is a partner in the Graphene Flagship, the EU's flagship initiative for Graphene research, and coordinates the Graphil project through a network of industrial and academic partners, including the Italian National Research Centre (CNR) and the Universities of Chalmers (SW) and Manchester (UK).

Medica S.p.A. is also coordinator of the EU Life Remembrance project.
