Medica's electromedical research and development team is made up of a group of engineers and technicians capable of developing every single detail of the equipment, from mechanical design, to electronics, software and sensors, with particular expertise in various medical fields such as Dialysis, CRRT, Apheresis, Cardiology, Oncological Surgery, Organ Transplantation, Urology and Gastroenterology Diagnostics.

The design can be completely managed by the Medica team or co-designed with the customer. Services can include prototyping, pre-series development, certification to specification standards and mass production.

PuriFi is an example of an OEM product: it is designed specifically for the application of CytoSorbents' hemoadsorption solutions, enabling quick and easy training and set-up when needed. The Cytosorb adsorber, for example, removes a wide range of toxins or substances that, if present at excessive levels, can be harmful to the body and are not dialyzable. It has been shown to help the patient's body stabilize macro-hemodynamics, improve tissue perfusion, protect vital organs, and reduce bleeding complications.
