Water purification medical filters

The need to guarantee high levels of water purification lies behind all medical applications performed by Medica filters.
For Dialysis, the use of ultra-pure water obtained from filters is key to the safety of the treatment itself, considering that more than 99% of the dialysate is composed of water, and at the same time as it is installed as the last purification stage before the electromedical apparatus, the ultrafiltration filter represents supplementary protection which reduces the potential for contamination inside the water loop of the dialysis centre.
In the case of Dental Unit Chairs, international scientific literature has, for some time, emphasised the risk deriving from the penetration of bacterial colonies and the formation of biofilm inside the pipework of the patient treatment equipment.
Without a set of health procedures and tools aimed at controlling cross infection in order to minimise this risk and keep it under control, a hazardous level of bacterial proliferation can occur inside the plumbing of the dental unit which can be harmful to the patient if they breathe in these micro-organisms, including through spray from the intraoral equipment.
In particular, the proliferation of Legionella represents a serious hazard to the health of elderly and immuno-compromised patients.
